Mangala Harathi Classes

Sangitam is one of the core components of Sanatana Dharma. It is said to be derived from Samavedam, and is a very prominent upasana marga for many saints such as Thyagaraja, Muttuswami Deekshitar, Shyama Sastri, Purandara Dasa, etc. Many Saints have attained kaivalya just by doing naadopasana. It is also a part of daily worship regimen of crores of dharmikas. Offering of Shastriya Sangeetham to the God in shodasopachara pooja is done towards the end by reciting “Geetham Sraavayami” and “vaadyam ghoshayami”. Many devotees and temples practice this even today in the form of Naadaneerajanam.

To enable interested astikas to make offering music to god an integral part of their life, Sanatana Dharma Varadhi has been conducting Mangala Harathi Classes for Gruhinis and Kanyas by the learned music teachers of KC Das Charitable trust since a year approximately. So far, 5 batches totalling to around 125 students have learned to sing Mangala Harathi songs, and have received their certificates. They have got opportunities to offer their swaraarchana at various events conducted by SDV such as Rama Navami, Sravana Vara Lakshmi Vratam celebrations, etc, in the presence of Pujya Guru Dampathi.

New batches will be starting soon to provide an opportunity to interested Gruhinis and Kanyas to learn singing Mangala Harathi songs. These can be sung at any auspicious events, during festivals, or even in nitya pooja daily. Trust office can be contacted for further enqueries.
